About the Role
Newman Memorial Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Master Daycare Teacher / Childcare Director to lead our hospital-based daycare program. This position oversees daily operations, ensures compliance with Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS) standards, and provides a safe, nurturing, and developmentally enriching environment for children.
The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic leader who values teamwork, excellence in early childhood education, and strong communication with families and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the NMH childcare program, ensuring compliance with all DHS regulations
- Maintain a high-quality learning environment that meets or exceeds state standards
- Supervise and support all teaching staff, assistants, and volunteers
- Provide program oversight and professional guidance at least three hours per day when four or more teaching personnel are present
- Promote parent engagement and open communication between staff and families
- Manage administrative and compliance tasks, including DHS reporting and recordkeeping
- Lead program development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for childcare staff
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of two years of satisfactory childcare or early education experience
- Holds a Bronze or higher Oklahoma Director’s Credential (per OAC 340 Appendix EE)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Not concurrently employed as a Director or Master Teacher at another program
- Strong understanding of Oklahoma childcare regulations and program operations
- Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills
Schedule & Work Expectations
- Must be present at the facility at least 50% of the operating hours or 30 hours per week (whichever is less)
- Primarily weekday schedule with flexibility for program needs
